Clermont, FL - The much-anticipated harvest season has officially begun at Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards, marking the start of one of the most exciting times of year for Florida's largest premium winery. With about 200 acres of lush vineyards under cultivation, the winery is now buzzing with activity as crews carefully harvest the grapes and prepare them for pressing.
Lakeridge is proud to showcase its signature Muscadine grape varieties - Noble (red) and Welder and Carlos (whites). These grapes flourish in Florida’s warm, humid climate thanks to their natural disease resistance and adaptability, producing vibrant, flavorful wines that reflect the unique character of the region.
Visitors to the winery during harvest can experience this special season firsthand. From the sights of grapes being picked to the sounds of pressing equipment in motion, harvest offers a rare glimpse into the winemaking process at its most lively stage. Guests are invited to see it all in action, making for a memorable and educational vineyard experience.
To make the season even more festive, Grape Stomping will take place every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4:00 PM as part of "Weekends at the Winery." Guests of all ages can join in this fun, traditional harvest activity while enjoying live music, delicious food, and, of course, award-winning Lakeridge wines.
"Harvest is a time of celebration for us," said Charles Cox, Owner and President of Seavin, Inc. "It’s when months of careful tending to the vineyards come full circle, and we get to share the excitement with our community and visitors who come to watch the process unfold."
As the grapes make their way from vine to bottle, Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards continues its mission of producing award-winning wines that highlight the best of Florida viticulture.
